34 seconds of Au Revoir Simone at the Ann Taylor Spring 2011 preview at the Gramercy Hotel roof bar, last night.

“Please remember that you are required to disclose in your blog if you received anything of value from Ann Taylor (e.g.; access to an event not open to the public, a gift from Ann Taylor)” Um, ok, these new FTC rules are really useful. True confessions time: I was given access to an event not open to the public. I received a glass of red wine, which probably costs upwards of $14 on a normal night, and had my same glass refilled. (Always thinking about the environment.)

The gift bags were all gone by the time I left, so nothing to worry about there. At the event, fashion bloggers Sara Zucker and Of A Kind’s Erica Cerulo explained to me how the Ann Taylor Spring 2011 collection (“This is not your mother’s Ann Taylor”) fits within current fashion trends: all earth tones — mauve, beige and several other colors I couldn’t exactly name — and lots of smooth textures, such as silk. I was not charged for the consultation. OK, FTC? Please do not fine me $11,000 for posting this.
